Awareness Function

Training and Education

In alignment with the strategic objectives of strengthening the resilience of the financial and banking sector, the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (Jo-FinCERT) offers a range of training and educational initiatives. These programs focus on equipping professionals with practical skills related to identifying and responding to cyber threats. This includes interactive workshops, such as:

1

The Table Top Exercise (TTX), which simulates exposure to cyberattacks and response mechanisms.

2

As well as educational courses and training programs aimed at enhancing the technical capabilities of staff, including the Cyber Security Bootcamp.

3

Additionally, a Learning Management System (LMS) will be implemented for employees in the financial and banking sector to facilitate access to and organization of training materials. These platforms provide diverse content, including videos, quizzes, and interactive resources, enriching the learning experience.

Aware

They also assist in tracking employee progress and generating comprehensive reports for management on the institution's cybersecurity awareness levels. Furthermore, a Phishing Simulation Engine will be introduced to assess employees' awareness of social engineering concepts and fraudulent emails. By delivering essential knowledge, skills, and capabilities, these initiatives ensure that institutions have qualified and competent human resources to effectively protect their organizations from cyber risks and threats.

Multi- level Awareness

Given that the human factor is often considered the weakest link in the cyber security chain, a multi-level awareness approach involves designing and implementing tailored awareness programs and sessions tailored to meet the diverse needs of various groups within the organization. This includes system users, intermediaries, and specialized cybersecurity departments. The goal of this approach is to provide each group with the relevant information and skills that match to their existing level of knowledge. To facilitate this, a wide selection of awareness strategies is utilized, such as community-wide awareness campaigns, educational sessions, videos, and instructional guides. These resources empower individuals and employees to deepen their understanding of cyber risks and best practices, contributing to the creation of a more secure digital environment and fostering a culture of cybersecurity awareness.

Communication

To strengthen the financial and banking sector's ability to obtain crucial data related to cybersecurity threats, the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (Jo-FinCERT) actively engages in partnerships with specialized international organizations. This collaborative effort focuses on the exchange of cyber threat intelligence, knowledge, and best practices between the Central Bank of Jordan and global central banks and relevant entities. Such partnerships not only enhance information sharing among institutions but also facilitate coordinated responses to cyber threats, thereby strengthening the overall cybersecurity posture and resilience of the financial sector's digital infrastructure.
