About the Team

In alignment with the Central Bank’s commitment to fostering a secure investment environment in the Kingdom, and enhancing the financial and banking sector's capacity to manage cyber risks and respond to cybersecurity incidents, the Bank initiated the formation of a Cyber Incident Response Team in collaboration with operating banks in 2019. This team is dedicated to protecting financial and banking institutions under the supervision of the Central Bank of Jordan from cybersecurity threats, in harmony with national efforts in the field of cybersecurity.

Organizational Structure

The Team Consists of

Cybersecurity Committee for the Financial and Banking Sector:

Responsible for supervising the development of cybersecurity in the financial and banking sector and for approving policies and strategies.

Executive Committee of the Cyber Incident Response Team for the Financial and Banking Sector:

Responsible for overseeing the work of the Cyber Incident Response Unit for the financial and banking sector.

Technical Advisory Committee for Cybersecurity in the Financial and Banking Sector:

Responsible for providing technical advice to the Executive Committee in cybersecurity fields and proposing targeted technical projects at the sector level.

Responsible for managing cybersecurity operations and incidents within the financial and banking sector.

About the Unit

Executive Manager: Ibrahim Shafei

The Jo-FinCERT Unit aims to enhance the cybersecurity framework within the sector, strengthening its readiness and capability to face and respond to cyber threats. The unit monitors cybersecurity incidents targeting the sector, assesses the extent of impact, and manages the incident response process through coordination with relevant authorities. It also works to improve the knowledge and awareness of sector employees by providing the necessary frameworks and policies.
